That’s a great move. It’s almost becoming a necessity now to have some kind of digital presence, and having your own blog is one of the best ways of establishing that.

But what’s even better is that you can use that blog to make money. This article will look into the business opportunities that are open to you when you start a blog in the Philippines. 

Using Your Blog To Promote Your Business 

First of all, if you own a business, you can use a blog to give your business a digital presence. 

As of January 2021, there were 73.9 million internet users in the Philippines.

That means most of your potential customers are online, and you can connect to them through the internet.

While blogs are not the go-to type of content right now, that doesn’t mean you should neglect it for your business.

It depends on the kind of business that you have.

Still, there is a possibility of establishing yourself as an authority in the niche for your business and you can establish a loyal following.

You can write recipes and other content that is related to your niche.

If you provide content that is actually useful and helpful, you’ll have a steady audience and a loyal following.

It is basically a commission-based business.

Under the affiliate marketing model, businesses will pay you a commission if you help them to sell their product or services.

The way that the promotion can vary. You can just have an ad placed on your blog and when someone clicks on that and makes a purchase you can get a commission. They will be identified if they came from your blog.

You can also mention their site on one of their blog posts with links to where they can purchase the product or the service.

There are established affiliate programs that you can use for your blog. The Amazon affiliate program, for example, can make you a lot of money. 

Choosing a wise Affiliate Product

The affiliate product is the product that you’re going to promote while linking your website to its purchase page.

If you’re under an affiliate program, when someone purchases it, you get the commission as mentioned above.

So, now you’re understanding that it is best to recommend affiliate products that you really believe in.

For example, it would be weird that I promote skincare products on my website with affiliate links as most of the readers are not here for such topics.

I would have much better returns if I promote products related to blogging, digital marketing or vlogging.

Earning through ads is a common way for bloggers and vloggers.

Google Adsense is the most popular way for you to monetize your site with ads. It is basically the platform where advertisers can pay to appear on your website

Before you can do that, your blog must meet certain criteria and it’s not easy doing that.

So, before you can focus on having ads on your blog, you need to concentrate on having high-quality content there.

Also, if you’re a vlogger and have a YouTube channel. It is common to get revenues from the ads generated on your videos are a great way to finance yourself.

But this is something more difficult to do with blogs.

This because you must have tons of traffic before making a significant revenue with ad programs.

With a smaller audience, you can earn much more from affiliate marketing if you have the right target audience than displaying ads from AdSense on your website.

Also, you might break with the overall aesthetic of your website, which is something I personally don’t like.

I’d rather have my website without random ads on it and cut this way of getting money.

This is what many writers would love to achieve.

Admittedly, not all blogs will reach the level at which companies will be willing to pay for blog posts or banners promoting them.

You will have to build your blog and its audience first before you can get sponsorship. 

However, it is not an impossible way to reach.

As companies are used to pay magazines and online magazines to be featured there.

They might pay you to be featured on your blog if you’re relevant with their topic.

Let’s say you’re one of the best bloggers about technology gadgets in the Philippines.

Samsung Philippines is launching a new gadget and is looking for influential bloggers to write about it.

That’s where they’ll contact you and you’ll be offering them sponsored content on your own blog.

This is also a great way to gain credibility on your blog.

As it’s like those companies are now part of your clients and it will be then even easier after, to get new ones.

Digital Courses or eBooks

Instead of selling other people’s products, you can also sell your own intellectual property like eBooks there.

If you are an authority about a certain subject then you can leverage that and write a book in which you can share your knowledge.

If you don’t think that an eBook will be in demand then how about a course?

If your knowledge is something that a lot of people would like to learn then you can build a course out of it that people will pay to take.

You can then use your blog to promote the course.

One of the products, most bloggers are selling are their own trainings and courses.

This because “learning” is at the heart of the blogging sphere. The best way to have an audience is to give them value.
